SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR THE ADMISSION OF PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
PERBANAS INSTITUTE

A. General Provisions

1. Perbanas Institute provides equal opportunities for all prospective students to participate in the admission process without discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, race, gender, social group, socioeconomic status, regional origin, or disability.
2. Perbanas Institute is committed to accommodating prospective students with disabilities and/or special educational needs, provided that they demonstrate academic potential, motivation, the ability to participate in the learning process, and fulfill the academic and administrative requirements established by the respective study program.
3. The admission of prospective students with disabilities shall take into consideration the compatibility between the type of disability, reasonable accommodation needs, learning characteristics, intended learning outcomes, and the study program’s capacity to provide safe, effective, and inclusive learning services.
4. Prospective students with disabilities may be granted affirmative consideration during the admission process in accordance with the policies of Perbanas Institute’s leadership, without compromising the academic quality standards and learning outcomes of each study program.
5. Perbanas Institute strives to provide facilities and infrastructure that support accessibility for students with disabilities, including academic information services, academic support, accessible learning resources, adjustments to assessment methods, and administrative assistance in accordance with the institution’s capabilities.
6. Prospective students with disabilities are required to provide accurate information regarding their disability and learning support needs during the admission process so that the relevant study program can appropriately assess the required support services.
7. The eligibility of prospective students with disabilities shall be determined through the academic selection process, document verification, and/or a special needs assessment conducted by the relevant units at Perbanas Institute.
8. If the assessment process determines that the applicant’s specific needs cannot yet be adequately accommodated by the intended study program, Perbanas Institute may recommend an alternative study program that is more suitable to the applicant’s condition and support needs.

B. Administrative Requirements for Prospective Students with Disabilities

Prospective students with disabilities must fulfill the general admission requirements of Perbanas Institute and submit the following additional documents:

1. A certificate of graduation or diploma from the previous level of education in accordance with the admission requirements of Perbanas Institute.
2. A medical certificate or assessment issued by a physician, psychologist, hospital, or other authorized institution describing the applicant’s disability and required learning accommodations, where available.
3. A statement signed by the prospective student and/or parent/legal guardian declaring their willingness to participate in the learning process in accordance with the academic regulations of Perbanas Institute.
4. A Special Needs Information Form containing information on:
   • the type of disability;assistive devices used;required support services;learning accessibility needs; andrequired academic assessment accommodations
5. Participation in an interview or special needs assessment if required by the Admissions Committee or the relevant study program.

C. Types of Disabilities Considered

The following categories of disabilities may be considered during the admission process at Perbanas Institute:

1. Mild to moderate physical disabilities, provided that they do not significantly hinder participation in academic activities, laboratory work, the use of technological devices, or other relevant learning activities.
2. Sensory disabilities, including:
   • mild visual impairments that can be corrected using assistive devices; and
   • mild to moderate hearing impairments that still allow effective communication with hearing aids or other assistive technologies.
3. Speech disabilities, provided that applicants are able to communicate effectively through spoken language, written communication, sign language, assistive technology, or other communication methods.
4. Mild intellectual disabilities or mild learning difficulties, provided that, based on the assessment results, the applicant is considered capable of participating in higher education.
5. Mild multiple disabilities, provided that the special needs assessment concludes that the applicant is capable of participating in the learning process, completing academic assignments, and achieving the intended learning outcomes of the study program.

E. Academic and Learning Provisions

1. 1. Students with disabilities who are admitted must comply with all academic regulations in force at Perbanas Institute.
   2. Study programs may provide reasonable academic accommodations, including:
      • assistive learning devices;
      • access to digital learning materials;
      • adjustments to communication methods;
      • additional time for examinations or assignments;
      • academic mentoring;
      • screen reader software, captioning services, or other assistive technologies;
      • and other technical accommodations, provided that they do not compromise the intended learning outcomes.
   3. Learning accommodations shall be provided based on the results of the special needs assessment and with consideration of the facilities, infrastructure, and institutional resources available at Perbanas Institute.
   4. Students with disabilities are required to achieve the intended learning outcomes established in the curriculum of their respective study programs.
   5. Study programs have the authority to periodically evaluate the learning support needs of students with disabilities to ensure the effectiveness of the academic process.

F. Affirmative Action and Scholarships

1. Prospective students with disabilities may receive affirmative consideration during the admission process in accordance with the policies of Perbanas Institute’s leadership.
2. Prospective students with disabilities who demonstrate academic excellence, non-academic achievements, or financial need may be considered for tuition fee reductions or scholarships in accordance with applicable regulations.
3. The granting of affirmative action, tuition fee reductions, or scholarships is not automatic and shall be determined based on the admission results, document verification, and the decision of Perbanas Institute’s leadership.

G. Closing Provisions

These provisions are established as the initial guidelines for the admission of prospective students with disabilities at Perbanas Institute. Their implementation shall adhere to the principles of non-discrimination, equal opportunity, reasonable accommodation, institutional capacity, and the alignment between the applicant’s needs and the characteristics of the respective study program.

Any matters not specifically regulated in these provisions shall be determined subsequently by the leadership of Perbanas Institute and/or in accordance with the applicable policies governing the admission of new students.
